Jimmie Johnson dominated again in a Chase race, sweeping the season races at Dover (Del.) International Speedway to accelerate his bid for an unprecedented fourth straight NASCAR Sprint Cup title.

Johnson cut Hendrick Motorsports teammate Mark Martin's points lead Sunday with the win — his fourth of the year and 44th overall — in the second of 10 races in the Chase for the championship.

"I'm pretty sure that dude is Superman," Martin said.

Much as Johnson did in May, his No. 48 Chevrolet was out in front for the majority of the 400-mile race. He led 271 laps at the one-mile oval for his fifth win at Dover.

Chase drivers took nine of the first 11 spots. Martin followed last week's win at New Hampshire with a runner-up finish. Juan Pablo Montoya was fourth and Kurt Busch fifth.

Matt Kenseth was the highest non-Chase driver at third.

Martin holds a 10-point lead over Johnson heading into next week at Kansas Speedway.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton won the Singapore Grand Prix. He started from the pole and finished 9.6 seconds ahead of Timo Glock, who equaled Toyota's best Formula One finish. Fernando Alonso gave scandal-hit Renault a lift by placing third. Force India's Adrian Sutil was fined $20,000 for causing BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld to crash on lap 19. Hamilton averaged 99.323 mph for 61 laps around the 3.15-mile circuit.

Robert Hight raced to his second Funny Car victory in two playoff events, winning the NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex in Ennis. Hight beat Jack Beckman in the final with a 4.218-second run at 296.44 mph in his Ford Mustang. Beckman finished in 4.271 seconds at 292.58 mph. Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel)m, Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Hector Arana (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners.

Ryan Johnson scored in the 73rd minute to help the Earthquakes (6-12-7) post a 2-1 win over D.C. United (8-7-12). Johnson headed in a rebound off the crossbar to break a tie. It was the second goal the Earthquakes scored in 15 minutes against United replacement keeper Milos Kocic, brought on when Josh Wicks dislocated his shoulder. The Quakes snapped a 20-game road winless streak that was the second longest in league history. San Jose was 0-12-8 away from home since a 2-0 win over Columbus on June 7, 2008. Kocic had been in the game for about six minutes when San Jose scored the tying goal. Ramon Sanchez connected on a free kick from just outside the penalty box.
