Olustee -- Olustee honors its past during the Olustee Battle Festival, Feb. 12-14. The fest features an arts and crafts fair in downtown Lake City on Feb. 12-13, a 5K race and a re-enactment of the 1864 Civil War Battle of Olustee. The re-enactment, at the Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park, is the undisputed highlight of the event, on Feb. 13-14. The historic battle comes to life with more than 2,000 living history re-enactors in period dress and features full-scale artillery, mounted cavalry and three African-American regiments.
